Off-Grid Grace

How do I begin to describe Pokhara?  A hippy paradise comes to mind.  Sadly for the locals, the large and beautiful lake front has been set aside for a tourist area.  Hotels, shops, and restaurants line the several mile stretch.  There are wonderful bohemian style clothes on nearly every passerby and in the shops and every third person was sporting dread locks.  The atmosphere sucked the ambition right out of you and left you relaxed and mellow, which was a nice balance after our grueling month on the trek.   The lake, back dropped by the green rolling hills, and home to several species of ducks and snowy egrets, gave the impression of old Chinese paintings.
