Nepal: Trekking the Mountains (Part 3)

Trekking to Annapurna Eco-Village

Early in the morning, we took the flight out from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The half hour flight itself was beautiful, as I peered down at snowy mountains below. I’m no mountain expert but apparently, that plane ride lets us see four of the world’s fourteen giant mountains, which were Daulagiri, Annapurna I, Manaslu and Shiashapangma.

Upon arriving, we had the car take us to the starting point to Astam. It was about a three hour trek to Annapurna Eco Village and, though it really wasn’t that long, the air was thick and it was relatively cold too. Plus we had our backpacks on our shoulders (and as we’re girls, we don’t pack light! :P). But it was a great hike, with nice conversations with Jo-e and the locals, and we had an amazing backdrop of the snowy mountainous peaks and lush trees.
